The festival takes over Sydney Showground with more than 40 artists across three major areas, including ENGIE Stadium. Expect massive stages, lasers, pyrotechnics and the kind of production where the visuals are almost as important as the music itself. The 2026 event is strictly 18+.

Deni Ute Muster — For Country Music and Classic Aussie Festival Vibes

For something completely different, head west to Deni Ute Muster.

This two-day event combines live country music with one of Australia’s most recognisable ute and camping cultures. Alongside the concerts, there are ute competitions, daytime entertainment and camping, making it much more of a weekend experience than simply turning up for a few sets. General admission includes access to the festival’s free general camping areas.

Spilt Milk — For Big Artists Without the Camping

Want the festival experience without committing to several nights in a tent? Spilt Milk might be the one.

Spilt Milk travels to four Australian cities in December, with the 2026 edition stopping in Canberra on 12 December, Gold Coast on 13 December, Geelong on 19 December and Perth on 20 December. Lewis Capaldi and RAYE headline the 2026 lineup alongside artists including Baby Keem, Maisie Peters, Remi Wolf and DMA’S.

It’s a good middle ground if you want major artists, festival food and a big crowd but still want to go home afterwards.

Beyond The Valley — For the Ultimate New Year’s Festival

If New Year’s Eve is the main event of your summer, Beyond The Valley takes celebrations to another level.

Held at Barunah Plains, around 126 kilometres west of Melbourne, the multi-day camping festival mixes electronic music, hip-hop, pop and live acts. The 2026 lineup includes John Summit, Black Eyed Peas, Skepta, Vince Staples, The Veronicas, The Jungle Giants and plenty more.

Beyond The Valley is strictly 18+ and the 2026 festival has already sold out, although an official Tixel waitlist is available.

Lost Paradise — For Music, Camping and Wellness

If you want a festival that feels more like a summer escape, Lost Paradise combines music with camping, nature and wellness experiences.

The four-day New Year’s festival takes place in Glenworth Valley and describes itself as a celebration of music, movement and connection. Beyond the stages, the festival includes experiences such as its Shambhala Fields program, while accommodation ranges from general camping to upgraded options. General admission tickets include camping.
