UTS Women in Sport Program

ActivateUTS runs a dedicated Women in Sport program designed to support and inspire female athletes at all levels. The program aims to increase participation, provide leadership opportunities, and break down barriers that women may face in sports. Through a variety of initiatives, including social sport, elite athlete support, and leadership programs, UTS fosters an inclusive and encouraging environment.

Introductory programs include tennis, weights, fencing, self-defence, basketball & volleyball

There is also the Women's Zone at the ActivateFit Gym. This is a dedicated space between 11am and 4pm daily, offering a comfortable and supportive environment for women to work out. Featuring a variety of resistance equipment and free weights, this area caters specifically to women's fitness needs.

Women-Focused Fitness & Running Groups

If you're looking for a supportive environment to stay active, Sydney offers fantastic women-led running groups and training programs as well as beautiful running trails and weekly park runs.

She RUNS

Founded by Millie, a UTS graduate, She RUNS is a supportive community of women in Sydney seeking female friendship and connection. It aims to empower women through outdoor movement.

Boobs on the Run

Boobs on the Run is a female-focused running group that combines fitness and charity. It welcomes all levels, but programs are particularly beginner-friendly. A portion of the membership fees is donated to breast cancer research, making it a fitness group with a cause.

Park Run

Parkrun is a global, free, weekly timed 5km running event held in local parks across Australia and worldwide. Open to all ages and abilities, Parkrun encourages community participation in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

Swimming

Sydney offers plenty of options for women interested in swimming including Australia's only women's only pool.

McIver’s Ladies Baths

McIver’s Ladies Baths in Coogee is Australia’s only women (and children)-only ocean pool. The pool is 32.9 metres long and is not far from another famous Coogee (unisex) ocean pool, Wylie's Baths. Access is down the steps from Grant Reserve at the top of the cliff. The pool was officially opened in 1886 after 10 years of building and improvement works, and had been used as a space reserved for women and children since the beginning of the colony.
