If uni is starting to feel like nothing but assignments and work, the Sydney Comedy Festival is a great way to mix things up. From 13 April to 17 May 2026, you can catch big-name acts, up-and-coming comedians, and special showcase nights all over Sydney. Whether you want a big night out or just something chill with friends, there’s something for everyone.

Headliners

If you want a bigger night, these are the standout picks:

Tiffany Haddish

  • Where: Enmore Theatre, Newtown
  • When: Sun 26 Apr, 9:00pm

Sydney Comedy Festival Gala

  • Where: Enmore Theatre / The Pavilion Sutherland
  • When: Wed 22 Apr

Budget-friendly picks

If you do not want to spend too much, there are still some good options:

Best Of The Fest

  • Where: Factory Theatre, Marrickville
  • When: 22–26 Apr
  • Why: Easy way to catch multiple acts in one show.

FRESH 2026

  • Where: Festival-wide
  • When: Across the festival
  • Why: Emerging comedians, with tickets promoted as under $22.

Best option if your friends can’t decide

Showcase nights are probably the safest option if no one knows who to book.

Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase @ The Comedy Store

  • Where: The Comedy Store
  • When: 23–25 Apr
  • Why: Multiple acts, less pressure, good group option.

Where it’s happening

The festival is spread across Sydney, so it is easier to find something near you.

  • Enmore Theatre – Newtown
  • Factory Theatre – Marrickville
  • The Comedy Store – Moore Park
  • Metro Theatre – CBD

Final take

The Sydney Comedy Festival is a great choice for uni students because it’s flexible. You can see a big headliner, save money with an up-and-coming act, or choose a showcase. No matter what, it’s more exciting than another week stuck in the library.
