This year NSW has been gifted an extra public holiday (this Monday). Hooray!

🎖️ ANZAC Day 2026 in Sydney: Where to Reflect, Remember, and Play Two-Up

This weekend is an important opportunity to reflect about the sacrifices made by others, with events happening all across Sydney.

Some of the highlights are:

ANZAC Day Dawn Service

If you want the traditional side of the weekend, the official Sydney Dawn Service is one of the key events on Saturday 25 April in Martin Place Cenotaph

Sydney CBD ANZAC March

The official Sydney CBD March also takes place on Saturday 25 April, followed by the Hyde Park commemoration service from 12:30pm.

Visit the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park

The memorial is open on 25 April, so it’s a good option if you want to mark the day in a quieter and more reflective way.

🎲 Two-Up 101: The Iconic Anzac Day Game That Brings Aussies Together

You can only play Two Up this weekend (it's illegal the rest of the year!). Sydney is full of venues hosting Two Up 'rings'. Our top pick is:

The Old Fitz on Saturday

A classic pub-style ANZAC Day plan if you want tradition, community and a few classic pub rituals in Woolloomooloo.

Sydney Comedy Festival

The Sydney Comedy Festival is running from 13 April to 17 May 2026 across venues including Enmore Theatre, Factory Theatre, The Comedy Store and Metro Theatre, offering everything from big-name headliners to budget-friendly showcase nights. With options like Tiffany Haddish, Best Of The Fest, and student-friendly emerging-comedian programs such as FRESH 2026, it is a flexible and entertaining way for uni students to take a break from assignments and enjoy a fun night out with friends.

Picnic Under The Bridge🧺

A low-key activity. Someone lovely has left comfy cushions and picnic blankets near the Harbour Bridge for anyone to enjoy an iconic picnic.
